We are a not-for-profit community action group dedicated to reducing overall carbon emissions in Augusta Margaret River.
For more than a decade the population of Augusta Margaret River has been seeking to reduce carbon emissions.
In 2010 a commitment was made to reduce emissions by 20%, calculated to amount to 11,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year. This was calculated to requiring a 10MW renewable energy facility. Augusta Margaret River Clean Community Energy Incorporated was established in May 2017 to facilitate bringing this ambitious aim to fruition.
It is spearheading the development of this substantial multimillion dollar project to ensure the resulting facility delivers for the community.
Our vision is to then use the profits earned by the project to achieve another 20% reduction of emissions in the region through a decrease in community consumption; helping local organisations use clean energy and lower the carbon footprint.
