ZERO: The Revolving Fund
Interest Free Loans for Community Groups
Community funded climate projects – Reduce your carbon footprint at no cost to you!
Community organisations are welcome to apply for a zero-interest loan to pay for climate beneficial projects such as installing solar panels, improving energy efficiency, switching away from fossil gas use, or purchasing electric vehicles.
The resultant savings on energy/fuel bills will cover the loan repayments into our revolving fund, so you can do your part to help tackle the climate emergency by reducing your carbon footprint immediately without diverting any of your budget away from delivering services to your community. And when your project has ‘paid for itself’ you’ll have lower operating costs meaning more money available for your core purpose with support from The Shire of Augusta Margaret River Clear Energy and Community Donations.
Who we are and what we do
AMRCCE is a volunteer-run non-profit organisation with tax deductible status. We focus on practical projects that achieve immediate reductions in carbon emissions for the common good.
AMRCCE ZERO: Revolving Fund has been established with support from the Shire of Augusta Margaret River, Clear Energy and donations from the public. We are seeking initial Expressions of Interests for climate projects. As the Revolving Fund evolves we will continue to invite the public to chip in to help fund the AMRCCE ZERO project for your organisation. We use those new donations and recent loan repayments from earlier projects to give you a loan to cover your project costs, or to make up the shortfall if you have partial funding from other sources.
- We support with independent technical and quality advice to help you work out the best project for your organisation
- Our zero-interest loan overcomes financial barriers to reducing your carbon emissions (most projects pay for themselves in 3-6 years)
- You demonstrate responsible climate initiatives to your community
- You provide a safe and comfortable environment for your staff and clients
You are eligible to apply for an AMRCCE ZERO loan if you are a non-profit community organisation or providing similar services in the AMR Shire and if finances are a barrier to reducing your carbon footprint. A solar project may be suitable if your premises have regular daytime use, your roof is in good condition, and you either own your premises or have a secure long-term lease. An electric vehicle project may be suitable if you have vehicles with regular high usage.
