AMRCCE Wind Farm Milestone Update
Dear AMRCCE Community,
Today the Regional Development Assessment Panel approved Synergy’s development application for a 100MW wind farm in Scott River, with conditions. The proposed wind farm has now received the necessary environmental and planning approvals.
For AMRCCE, this is a huge milestone!
It has been a long 10 years to get to this point. For the first 6 years, AMRCCE conducted various high level feasibility studies to prove the concept. In 2023, we transitioned the project to Synergy, who recognised the value of our work. We have continued to support Synergy through their feasibility studies and development application process.
This project was initiated and driven by the community, with a shared desire for a renewable energy system to reduce emissions in our shire and take action on climate change. AMRCCE is so very pleased that we have kept faith with the community on delivering through to this stage.
Receiving environmental and planning approvals is one of many steps in a project development timeline. As with any major project, there are still various stages to go through before construction can commence, including securing a final investment decision, which is now a process for Synergy to speak to.
I would like to celebrate this milestone by acknowledging our many community members over the years who have donated financially and/or provided many hours of pro bono work. Thank you for your belief, support and willingness to act!
Of course, we have more ahead to achieve. I look forward to seeing you at our next community Electrify Everything event. Watch this space for the next update.
Best regards,
Jessica
